How To Stay Out Of My Spam Folder

It is amazing the amount of unsolicited email we all receive.

You don't have time to read all of them and neither do I.

If you don't have me at the subject line I delete the email and the wrong subject line gets you in the spam folder.

What is easiest way to get placed in my spam folder?

Here are some examples:

"Are you interested in improving your rankings in the search engines? There is a massive amount of traffic and sales available for those in the top spots, so I just wanted to find out if that was something you wanted a consultation on. I am very passionate about what I do and would love to give you a breakdown of what needs to be done, how long it will take and what the costs are. Let me know if this is something you would be interested in and we can set up a time to chat.

Thank You,

************** – Search Engine Marketing Specialist"

"My name is ****** and I’m a website designer. I’m reaching out to find out if there are changes or improvements that you’d like to make to your site. Have you been thinking about updating your site to a more modern look and feel or adding some features to the site that automate some of your business processes? If so, I’d really love to speak with you.

Is there a time we can speak in the next couple of days that would work for you? I can provide you with some suggestions of different things that I’ve done that have made a big impact on my clients’ sales. I’d love to be able to help out.

Let me know what number to call and what time works out best for you and I’ll do my best to make it work.

I look forward to hearing back from you.

Best Regards, "

I volunteer for a non profit and these emails were unsolicited and arrived through the "dump" box. I dragged them right into the spam folder.

Here is how to stay out of my spam folder.

Here is an example of a thoughtful unsolicited email that I actually responded to and set a meeting.

This is a great example of how to stay out of my spam folder.

"Getting to know your business better

Phil,

I am the local ***** here in Greater Cincinnati for *** and came across your website. I was reading through how you assist your clients in providing the best opportunities to market themselves and find their brand that fits them to best be successful reaching the ideal client. I think that you are on the right track by saying that business in today's time has truly changed and the struggle to contact and in get in front of the "right" person has become a difficult task. Some of my customers are seeing a slowing in revenue due to being stuck in the past and I think that you could be a great benefit to them. I also would love to get to know how your business came about and just do some networking with you. Let me know when a good time would be to grab some coffee and discuss further. My cell number is*******if you would like to reach me. I look forward to meeting you.

Thanks,"

Why did I set a meeting?

They got it right.

Audience.

Purpose.

Message.

This individual took the time to understand my business through research and offered to help me and told me how to contact them.

Think before you hit send.
